Day One

MySpace Layouts

BAD:
This in my opinion, is a bad layout because of the colours and fonts. The font is quite illegible as its tight and the same colour as the background. The colours are too brash, and distract you from the content.

Another terrible layout, yet again the American pride thing. Its not that I dont like Americans, its just they're so patriotic and so wrapped up in themselves, this shows that in how they really didnt want to make a MySpace layout, they just wanted to make a point. The font in the background is a huge distraction from the content because you're drawn to that and not the text and imaging on the actual MySpace page.
Yet again the colours fail the test as the font is also the same colour. What were they thinking?

GOOD:

I believe that these MySpace's are good. This Porsche 911 GT3 (997) version especially, because the car is interesting and appealing to look at. The boxes are outlined with yellow and black colouring which is attractive and draws your eye into the content.

The Halo Wars' MySpace layout is a very subtle and simple looking layout, with the fonts not being the same colour but being the opposite so that the reader can actually read it. Because the background is mainly dark, the font and imaging ontop could easily be a medium to light shade and would still work well.

Website Layouts

Bad Pages:
The bad thing about this website is the layout. There is barely any text to read on the page that is legible for the user, just very brash and hard to understand adverts which make the web page confusing to access and find things, considering its meant to be a cycles shop and it advertises a full page of sunglasses.

This has to be one of the worst websites I have ever been on. Not because of its content, but plainly because of someones bright idea to use Frames for each news article, and even the navigation links at the top.

It looks really unprofessional and really not user friendly.

Good Pages:

The best thing about the Disney site is the look of it. It looks to be accessible by anyone and simplistic to understand, which is a bonus for children. The background is friendly and the foreground is very simple and easy to read and look at without being distracted.

This is a website dedicated to the Dodge Challenger series of American muscle cars. I chose this site to as a good representation of an easy access, good layout, website because its really easy to find things. On the left you have the many versions of the Challenger to read and learn the history of each one.

The text is laid out in the simple way making everything legible and nothing is hard to read or nothing to strain over.
